News Hear "The Rose" Singer Amanda McBroom Showcase Unheard Songs at 54 Below Tonight Singer, songwriter and cabaret performer Amanda McBroom returns to 54 Below Sept. 30 with her new solo show, Up Close and Personal. McBroom is a Golden Globe winner for Best Original Song for "The Rose," the Oscar-winning 1979 film starring Bette Midler.

McBroom hits the stage at the cabaret venue Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 in a show that features previously unheard songs from her personal songwriter’s trunk, as well as music by some of her favorite writers, including Leonard Cohen, Judy Collins, Fran Landesman, John Bucchino, Jacques Brel and more. Music direction is by Michele Brourman.

Tonight's concert features special guests George Ball and John Bucchino; tomorrow's will feature Ball and Karen Mason.

McBroom’s songs have been recorded by Leanne Rimes, Barry Manilow, Judy Collins, Barbara Cook, Anne Murray, Harry Belafonte, Betty Buckley, Stephanie Mills and The Manhattan Transfer, among others.
