Olivier winner George Maguire (Sunny Afternoon) and Natalie McQueen (9 to 5 The Musical) will star as Buck and Blanche Barrow, respectively, in the West End premiere of Frank Wildhorn's Bonnie and Clyde The Musical, which begins performances April 9 at the Arts Theatre.
Maguire and McQueen were also featured in the January Bonnie and Clyde concerts at London's Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Those evenings, featuring Tony nominee Jeremy Jordan reprising his Broadway role as Clyde alongside the West End's Frances Mayli McCann as Bonnie, were filmed for future release. Additional casting for the London run, including the actors starring in the title roles, will be announced at a later date.
The upcoming production, composer Wildhorn's first musical to have a full production mounted in the West End, will be directed by Nick Winston, with set and costume design by Philip Whitcomb and musical supervision from Katy Richardson.
With music by Tony nominee Wildhorn (Wonderland, Jekyll & Hyde, The Civil War, The Scarlet Pimpernel), lyrics by Tony winner Don Black (Sunset Boulevard), and a book by Ivan Menchell (The Cemetery Club), Bonnie & Clyde played Broadway's Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre November 4-December 30, 2011, directed by Tony nominee Jeff Calhoun. Center stage as the title characters were Tony nominees Jordan and Laura Osnes.
