Disney Theatrical Productions has partnered with travel technology leader Volantio on RePrize, a new airfare-like ticket upgrade program for the Broadway production of Aladdin at the New Amsterdam Theatre.

Guests at certain high-demand performances of the hit Disney musical will be invited to switch their performance dates and, in doing so, be upgraded to a superior seat location for no additional cost. Some guests will receive an email upgrade offer days or weeks in advance of their show, providing ample time to change their plans if they choose. There is no obligation to respond or accept the offer.

Exchanges made through the RePrize program are fee-free and must be requested through RePrize at least 48 hours prior to start of original performance.

This new program follows Disney's COVID exchange policies and the first-on-Broadway utilization of Ticketmaster’s Safetix platform, which allows for real-time electronic ticket transfer capability.

“RePrize presents a new and innovative way to reward our guests for their flexibility, providing them with an unexpected treat,” says Disney Theatrical Productions Vice-President of Sales and Analytics Nick Falzon. “We’re excited to extend this guest-centric capability to Broadway.”

“Through our work in the travel industry we’ve seen the power of unexpected benefits such as free upgrade offers to surprise and delight guests,” adds Volantio CEO Azim Barodawala. “We congratulate Disney Theatrical Productions on their first-of-its-kind launch.”

Disney Theatrical and Volantio are also partnering to provide similar benefits to audiences of Frozen in Australia.

Following the pandemic-related Broadway shutdown, Aladdin reopened September 28, 2021, at Broadway's New Amsterdam with Michael Maliakel in the title role, Shoba Narayan as Jasmine, and Michael James Scott as the Genie.

The stage production, which expands the 90-minute film into a two-act format, has music by Alan Menken, lyrics by the late Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, and a book and additional lyrics by Chad Beguelin. Nicholaw directs and choreographs.

Aladdin opened at the new Amsterdam March 20, 2014, following previews that began February 26. The musical was nominated for five 2014 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. James Monroe Iglehart won the Tony for his performance as the Genie.

Aladdin is designed by Tony-winning scenic designer Bob Crowley, Tony-winning lighting designer Natasha Katz, Tony-winning costume designer Gregg Barnes, and sound designer Ken Travis.

The production team also includes illusion designer Jim Steinmeyer and hair designer Josh Marquette. The music team is headed by music supervisor and music director Michael Kosarin, who also created the vocal and incidental music arrangements, joined by orchestrator Danny Troob and dance music arranger Glen Kelly.
