CLAUDE – Male identifying, Any ethnicity, 45-65
The gregarious and well-loved Mayor of Gander, Newfoundland. Claude loves his town, the people in it, and the comfort of his daily routine. A natural leader whose warmth and optimism help guide the town through crisis. Vocal range (top): G4.
BONNIE – Female identifying, Any ethnicity, 35-45
A practical, no-nonsense mother of three and the head of the Gander SPCA. Bonnie works tirelessly to care for the animals left aboard the grounded planes. Vocal range (top): B4.
BEULAH – Female identifying, Any ethnicity, 45-65
The welcoming and compassionate head of the Gander Legion, with a firefighter son. Beulah becomes a source of comfort to many, forming a meaningful friendship with Hannah.
OZ – Male identifying, Any ethnicity, 35-55
The quirky constable in Gander’s two-person police force. Friendly and compassionate, Oz is naturally a helper and plays an important role in supporting the community. Vocal range (top): G4.
JANICE – Female identifying, Any ethnicity, 25-35
An eager and inexperienced local TV reporter. On her first day on the job, Janice is suddenly thrust into covering an unprecedented global event. Vocal range (top): E5.
BEVERLEY / ANNETTE – Female identifying, Any ethnicity, 45-60
The first female captain for American Airlines. Confident, capable, and passionate about flying.
Also, ANNETTE, a local teacher at Gander Academy and mother who helps care for stranded passengers.

DIANE – Female identifying, Any ethnicity, 50-65
A traditional divorcee from Texas. Diane grows increasingly anxious as she fears her son may have been flying during the attacks Vocal range: A (bottom) -C#5 (top).
NICK / DOUG – Male identifying, Any ethnicity, 50-65
An English oil engineer focused on his work and routine, whose life changes when he meets Diane. English accent required. Also, DOUG, an air traffic controller, is married to Bonnie, who does his best to help both her husband and the stranded animals. Vocal range (top): E4.
KEVIN T / GARTH – Male identifying, Any ethnicity, 35-50
A confident and somewhat controlling traveler. Also, GARTH, the head of the local union representing the bus drivers. Vocal range (top): G4.
KEVIN J – Male identifying, 35-50, MENASA (Middle Eastern, North African, and South Asian).
Kevin T’s boyfriend and assistant. Intelligent, sarcastic, and increasingly frustrated, Kevin wants to leave Gander as soon as possible.
BOB – Male identifying, Black, 25-45
A hardened New Yorker, Bob is suspicious of where he's landed, fearing that it's World War III—that someone is going to shoot him and steal his wallet—but instead, he ends up losing his New York jadedness.
HANNAH – Female identifying, Any ethnicity, 45-60
The mother of a firefighter in Manhattan. While waiting for news about her son, Hannah forms a deep and supportive friendship with Beulah. Vocal range (top): E5.

Elegant, charming, and yet deeply disturbed. Lived for almost his whole life in the opera house. He is obsessed with Christine, which leads him on a path of revenge and murder in her name. Baritone.
CHRISTINE DAAÉ – Female, 20-30
Beautiful, kind-hearted, and naive young opera singer. She feels a true kinship and affection for Eric, despite his troubles. Lyric Soprano.
CARLOTTA – Female, 40-55
demanding diva, willing to go as far as to poison Christine when she becomes a threat to her soprano reign. Legit mezzo-soprano.
GÉRARD CARRIÈRE – Male, 50-70
The former manager of the opera house. Eric’s father. Baritone.
ALAIN CHOLET – Male, 40-55
The new, arrogant manager of the opera house. Carlotta's husband. Baritone.
COUNT DE CHANDON/PHILIPPE – Male, 25-35
The handsome and self-confident opera benefactor. In love with Christine. Legit tenor.

A tight-fisted hand at the grindstone. A squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous old sinner.
YOUNG SCROOGE/CHRISTMAS FUTURE – Male, 20-25
A clever chap, filled with enormous potential until his great passion. Greed engrosses him.
FRED – Male, 25-30 (ROLE IS CAST)
Handsome nephew of old Scrooge, with a cheerful voice and a sparkling laugh. Baritone/Tenor.
MEG/BELLE – Female, 20-25
Fred’s bride, very pretty, with a dimpled, surprised look. Also, BELLE, Young Scrooge’s betrothed, a fair maiden, honorable and pure. Soprano.
THE NARRATOR - Male, 30-45
A poet and artist; the teller of this ghostly tale.
BOB CRATCHIT – Male, 30-45
A clerk in the service of Ebenezer Scrooge and the loving father of a fine family.
JACOB MARLEY – Male, 30-45
Scrooge’s first and only business partner, dead as a doornail. Non-singing. Dynamic character actor. Must be comfortable with heights/flight.
CHRISTMAS PAST/MRS CRATCHIT - Female, 30-45
First of three spirits, she is of the air – resplendent in stars. Soprano.
CHRISTMAS PRESENT - Any gender, 30-50
A giant of harvest and plenty, glorious to behold. Commanding presence and voice.
