Job Title: Music Director for THE PROM

Producing Director: Roberto Di Donato
Director/Choreographer: Steve Pacek

Start: Jan 6
End: March 8
Pay: $800-$850 per week
Housing, travel, and possible local transportation provided.

Tantrum Theater is an URTA Tier 1 theater company at Ohio University, located in Athens, OH.


Music Director
The music director must be comfortable collaborating with and supporting a mix of undergraduate and graduate student actors as well as AEA guest artists.


The responsibilities include:
-Teaching the score and maintaining musical integrity throughout the rehearsal process and the run of the show by giving notes and providing additional coaching as necessary.
-Collaborate with the Director/Choreographer.
-Participate in production meetings as needed.
-Accompany rehearsals (Prior to tech, rehearsals are scheduled Tue-Fri evenings and Saturday 11-5. Sun-Mon are days off).

Depending on the candidate’s skillset, additional responsibilities may include:
-Rehearsing the orchestra.
-Conducting the orchestra while playing the Keyboard 1 book – familiarity with MainStage software is required. Keyboard programming will be provided.
-Coordinating pit setup and strike.
-Other duties as required to support an orchestra comprised of student and professional musicians.
