DESCRIPTION

MANHATTAN THEATRE CLUB seeks a dedicated and responsible Basic Crew member for a seasonal position at New York City Center Stage One. This person will be responsible for programming and running multiple productions during our 2024-2025 season, as well as providing support for any special events in Stage One.

Responsibilities:
· Assisting the Lighting and Sound Supervisor in the supervision of the load in and strike crews for each
production.
· Reading light plots, hanging lights, focusing, programming the light board, running the shows, show
maintenance, general maintenance, and keeping equipment inventories.
· A strong background in programming ETC boards is highly preferred; primary light board is an ETC Ion.
· Moving lights, LED elements, tracking, and presets are used often.
· Additional support for the production in all fields of technical theater.

Requirements:
· 2-3 years of experience as a light board operator/programmer
· Knowledge of current lighting equipment and lighting practices
· Ability to program lights for ETC Ion
· Collaborative attitude and strong communication skills
· Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and Lightwright
· Ability to work in a detailed and organized manner, resourceful and flexible
· Basic sound, video, and carpentry knowledge a plus
· Must be able to climb and work from ladders and lift and carry 40 lbs

The ideal candidate is good at problem solving and able to approach problems from many angles. Creativity and willingness to work as a team member required, as the Lighting Basic works closely with the Prop, Carpentry and Sound Basics. Evening, early morning, late night, and weekend hours are often required for this full-time position.

This position at Manhattan Theatre Club’s City Center Stage One theatre is under the jurisdiction of the collective bargaining agreement between MTC and IATSE Local One for Stage One. Pay and benefits are prescribed by this union agreement currently at $ 32.86 per hour.
