"Glee" co-creator Ryan Murphy tweeted Sept. 9 a photo of the actress in front of the St. James with the caption, "Funny Girl." Following his post, Michelle — who refers to herself on Twitter as a "Streisand Worshiper" — tweeted the same photo and added, "#GleeinNYC #FunnyGirl #Broadway."
The fourth season of "Glee" came to a close with Michele's character in callbacks for a Broadway revival of Funny Girl.
Producers such as Bob Boyett have reportedly expressed interest in Michele taking on the role of Fanny Brice in a possible real-life Broadway return of the Tony-nominated musical by Bob Merrill (lyrics), Jule Styne (music) and Isobel Lennart (book).
