The international hit musical Hadestown, the 2019 Tony winner for Best Musical, welcomes an all-new principal cast to the Walter Kerr Theatre beginning March 3.

Joining the long-running production are Tony and Grammy winner J. Harrison Ghee (Some Like It Hot, Saturday Church, Accused) as Hermes, Disney Channel and Broadway actor Joshua Colley (Descendants: The Rise of Red, Sex Appeal, Newsies) as Orpheus, The Notebook and Gypsy star Jordan Tyson as Eurydice, TV and film star Gary Dourdan (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, A Different World, The Weekend) in his Broadway debut as Hades, and Grammy and Latin Grammy winner Gaby Moreno (X Mí (Vol. 1), Alegoría, Illusion) in her Broadway debut as Persephone.

Hadestown, now in its seventh year on Broadway, said farewell to Morgan Dudley as Eurydice, Kurt Elling as Hermes, Allison Russell as Persephone, Tony winner Paulo Szot as Hades, and Jack Wolfe as Orpheus, who all played their final performances March 1.

The Broadway cast also features Jessie Shelton, Kay Trinidad, and Brit West as the Fates with the chorus of Workers played by Emily Afton, Malcolm Armwood, Jeffrey Cornelius, Sydney Parra, and Alex Puette. The company also includes swings Sojourner Brown, Brandon Cameron, Ayla Ciccone-Burton, KC Dela Cruz, Tara Jackson, Max Kumangai, Gregory Treco, and Tanner Ray Wilson. Casting is by Whitley Theatrical.

Hadestown is in its third year in the West End (the musical returned to London six years after its 2018 engagement at the National Theatre). The record-breaking North American tour completed its coast-to-coast three-year run in 2024, and productions have opened across the globe in Sydney, Melbourne, and Amsterdam last year. A new staging will open in Brazil this summer.

Singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell’s folk- and jazz-infused musical layers the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice with that of Hades and Persephone, intertwining the actions—and consequences—of gods and mortals. Hadestown originally began as a theatrical concert performed by Mitchell.

The creative team features Tony-winning set designer Rachel Hauck, Tony-nominated costume designer Michael Krass, Tony-winning lighting designer Bradley King, Tony-winning sound designers Nevin Steinberg and Jessica Paz, choreographer David Neumann, and dramaturg Ken Cerniglia. Musical supervision and vocal arrangements are by Liam Robinson, with arrangements and orchestrations by Tony winners Michael Chorney and Todd Sickafoose.

The show, featuring a book and score by Mitchell, won eight 2019 Tony Awards: Best Director of a Musical (Rachel Chavkin), Best Featured Actor in a Musical (André De Shields), Best Lighting Design of a Musical (Bradley King), Best Scenic Design of a Musical (Rachel Hauck), Best Sound Design of a Musical (Jessica Paz and Nevin Steinberg), Best Orchestrations (Michael Chorney and Todd Sickafoose), Best Original Score (Mitchell), and Best Musical.
