Video Watch Santino Fontana Sing 'As Fast As I Can' From The Violet Hour

Musicalizing the memories of a World War I soldier, the new music video from the Will Reynolds and Eric Price musical is being released for Memorial Day.

Tony winner Santino Fontana sings "As Fast As I Can" from Will Reynolds and Eric Price's new musical The Violet Hour in a newly released music video. The song, which musicalizes the memories of a World War I soldier, is being released in honor of Memorial Day, celebrated May 29. Watch above.

The Violet Hour is adapted from Richard Greenberg's 2003 play, with music by Reynolds and a book and lyrics by Price. A studio cast album of the work was released last year. Stream the album in full on Spotify. A deluxe digital package including liner notes, a bonus track, and a documentary feature is available at TheVioletHourMusical.com.

Joining Fontana on the album are Solea Pfeiffer, Erika Henningsen, Jeremy Jordan, and 2023 Tony nominee Brandon Uranowitz. Orchestrations are by Charlie Rosen with music supervision by Andy Einhorn.

Set in 1919, the work centers on a young publisher who comes to possess a machine that suddenly starts printing pages from future books, allowing him to figure out what's coming for the world at large over the next century and maybe change it.

Greenberg's play premiered at South Coast Repertory in 2002, coming to Broadway in 2003 via Manhattan Theatre Club.

Reynolds and Price won the 2018 Fred Ebb Award for Musical Theatre Writing, with their musicals including Radioactive, Around the World, and The Sixth Borough. On screen, the duo penned songs for AppleTV+'s Central Park. The pair has launched a music store on their website, where sheet music for more than 25 of their songs can be purchased along with accompaniment tracks. Songs from The Violet HourRadioactive, and other Reynolds and Price musicals are available at ReynoldsAndPrice.com.
