Miranda also revealed on The Tonight Show that the Disney+ capture of Hamilton will be released to cinemas in September.

Lin-Manuel Miranda stopped by The Tonight Show August 5 to celebrate Hamilton's 10th anniversary, and it was a bevy of delights.

Miranda joined host Jimmy Fallon and the house band, The Roots, to perform a medley of "Alexander Hamilton" and "My Shot" using only classroom instruments. Featuring kazoos, a xylophone, hand-shaped clappers, and more, the performance marks one of the few times Miranda has publicly performed Hamilton material since he left the role in 2019. Check out how his voice has matured in the video above.

Miranda also joined Fallon at the desk to talk about the last ten years, as well as the seven years prior that it took for Miranda to write Hamilton

While the musical was on the verge of maturity in a 17-year-old Miranda's mind, an even more impactful birthday is taking the cake for Miranda: his eldest son, Sebastian, is newly 10.

"He's a little older than Hamilton," Miranda shared, smiling. "He was born two weeks before we started rehearsals Off-Broadway at the Public... At first, he was not into Hamilton, because he was a baby, but you know what came to the rescue? Fifth grade American history. Suddenly I'm being called into class to judge Federalists versus Anti-Federalists debates for the class!"

Now that Sebastian is interested, however, Miranda has some explaining to do. "Sebastian learns something new at school, and he comes home and is like…'So why isn't Ben Franklin in the musical? What about von Steuben? He was integral to the success of the troops.' And I'm like, 'It's a musical! I only had two-and-a-half hours!'"

While on air, Miranda also had an exciting announcement. The proshot of the original Broadway cast of Hamilton, available to stream now on Disney+, will be available to see in movie theatres September 5. Cinemas across the country, and in Puerto Rico, will have various showtimes, and tickets are now on sale.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning Hamilton continues on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre.
