Tony winner, actor, and solo recording artist Leslie Odom, Jr. appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Gayle King to talk about his holiday album Simply Christmas. During the official “After Show” with host Andy Cohen, a caller asked Odom if there was a show or project he would like to go back and relive.
“I made my Broadway debut when I was 17 years old in Rent on Broadway, and that’s the show that brought me to the theatre,” he said. “But if I could relive any moment again, I'd relive that.” Odom was cast in the ensemble and understudied the roles of Benny and others. As if on cue, Cohen jumped into song, and Odom joined in on an impromptu duet. (Watch the video below beginning at 7:00.)
Odom also unwrapped Christmas gifts from King—off of the list of Oprah’s Favorite Things, and revealed a strange moment with Johnny Depp from the Murder on the Orient Express set.
