True crime drama KENREX will make its American premiere this spring, following sold-out runs in London, with performances beginning April 15 ahead of an official opening night April 26 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre.

Jack Holden, the work's co-writer and original star, will reprise his performance Stateside. Holden wrote the musical with director Ed Stambollouian, telling the true story of a 1981 shooting in Skidmore, Missouri, that happened in the daytime and with 60 witnesses—all who later claimed not to have seen anything. The play previously played sold-out runs at Sheffield Theatres’ Tanya Moiseiwitsch Playhouse, and later Southwark Playhouse.

The production features set and costume design by Anisha Fields, lighting and video design by Joshua Pharo, sound design by Giles Thomas, and movement direction by Sarah Golding. Performances also feature an original score, written and performed live by John Patrick Elliott. Elliott's score has been released by an album and is currently available on streaming platforms.

“As much as U.K. audiences have responded to this play, at its core this is a deeply American story,” says Holden and Stambollouian in a joint statement. “We are thrilled for this chance to present it to American audiences.”

Tickets will be available for Lortel Members beginning January 27 at 10 AM ET. Ticket sales begin via the TodayTix app January 29 at 10 AM ET, with general sales beginning January 30 at 10 AM ET at KenrexThePlay.com.
