How to Get $45 Tickets to See Jon Bernthal and Ebon Moss-Bachrach in Dog Day Afternoon on Broadway

The upcoming screen-to-stage play has unveiled digital lottery and rush ticket programs.

Digital rush and lottery ticket programs have been unveiled for the upcoming Broadway run of Dog Day Afternoon, due to begin March 10 at the August Wilson Theatre. Pulitzer winner Stephen Adly Guirgis (Between Riverside and Crazy) has adapted the 1975 film for the stage. Opening night will be March 30, with the limited run currently set to continue through June 28. Two-time Olivier winner Rupert Goold is at the helm.

The production will offer day-of rush tickets both digitally, via the TodayTix app, and in-person at the theatre box office. Ticket buyers are limited to two per person, with tickets set at $45. The production will also hold a digital lottery for $45 tickets via LuckySeat.com.

The production will star Jon Bernthal (The Bear) as Sonny Amato, Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Fantastic Four) as Sal DeSilva, John Ortiz (Jesus Hopped the "A" Train) as Detective Ferrara, Jessica Hecht (Eureka Day) as Colleen, Spencer Garrett (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) as Sheldon, Michael Kostroff as Butterman, Elizabeth Canavan as Roxxanna/Sonny's Mom/Gloria, Esteban Andres Cruz as Leon, Danny Johnson as Mr. Eddy, Paola Lázaro as Guadalupe, Wilemina Olivia-Garcia as Lorna, Christopher Sears as Ray Ray, Michael Shayan as Mr. Nesbit, Jeff Still as Widower Dave, and Andrea Syglowski as Alison, along with Brian D. Coats, Alex J. Gould, Dom Martello, Michael Puzzo, and Carmen Zilles. Casting is by The Telsey Office.

The true crime story centers on a 1972 Brooklyn bank robbery gone wrong that turns into a hostage situation. Frank Pierson wrote the original film, adapting P.F. Kluge's Life magazine article "The Boys in the Bank."

The production will feature scenic design by David Korins (Hamilton), costume design by Brenda Abbandandolo (Good Night, and Good Luck), lighting design by Isabella Byrd (Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club), sound design by Cody Spencer (The Outsiders), hair design by Leah J. Loukas (Good Night, and Good Luck), and dialect coaching by Kate Wilson (Oedipus). Barclay Stiff will serve as the production stage manager.

Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures' Mark Kaufman, Sue Wagner, John Johnson, and Patrick Catullo are producing. Warner Bros. released the original film.
