Tony, Emmy, and Grammy winner Billy Porter will host Tectonic Theater Project’s annual benefit, A Tectonic Cabaret, October 3.

Directed by Timothy Koch, the evening will also feature 2022 Tony winner Joaquina Kalukango and Michael Urie. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

Tectonic Theater Project is a not-for-profit theatre company based in New York City. The company has created and staged more than 20 plays and musicals, including artistic director and founder Moisés Kaufman's Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde, The Laramie Project, Doug Wright's Pulitzer-winning I Am My Own Wife, and Kaufman's Tony Award-winning 33 Variations starring Jane Fonda. Kaufman also co-wrote and directed the Emmy Award-nominated HBO film adaptation of The Laramie Project.

Proceeds from the cabaret will benefit the theatre's development of new works and education programs through The Moment Work Institute.

A Tectonic Cabaret will honor the late James Catherwood Hormel with the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Amy Stursberg with the Inaugural James C. Hormel Award. Both Hormel and Stursberg have been longtime supporters of Tectonic Theater Project.
