Tom Sturridge and Brian d'Arcy James have joined St. Ann's Warehouse's upcoming revival of Eugene O'Neill's Anna Christie, which will feature screen star Michelle Williams in the title role as previously announced. The production will play the Brooklyn venue November 25, 2025–February 1, 2026, with a two-week break December 22, 2025-January 5, 2026. Tony winner Thomas Kail, Williams' off-screen husband, will direct.
Sturridge is replacing the previously announced Mike Faist, who has departed from the revival. The star of Netflix's The Sandman, Sturridge has performed on Broadway in Sea Wall/A Life, Orphans, and 1984, receiving Tony nominations for the first two. In London's West End, he was an Olivier nominee for his performance in the 2016 revival of American Buffalo.
D'Arcy James was most recently seen on stage in Signature Theatre's Eurydice, and on Broadway in Days of Wine and Roses. He's a five-time Tony nominee.
The production will feature movement and fight choreography by Steven Hoggett (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), scenic design by Christine Jones (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) and Brett J. Banakis, costume design by Paul Tazewell (Hamilton), lighting design by Natasha Katz (Sweeney Todd), and music by Nicholas Britell (Succession).
Originally premiering in 1921, Anna Christie follows a former prostitute trying to turn her life around. The work won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1922, and has been revived on Broadway three times, in 1952, 1977, and 1993.
