The Barrow Group has announced details of its 2018–2019 season, which will begin this November with a revival of Martin Moran’s autobiographical solo play The Tricky Part. Barrow Group Co-Artistic Director Seth Barrish, who directed the play’s 2004 Off-Broadway world premiere, reunites with Moran for the November 29–December 16 run.

Moran received critical acclaim for his candid and deeply personal account of being sexually abused by a camp counselor during his early teens, and his quest to confront his abuser 30 years later. The play was later adapted into a book, The Tricky Part: One Boy’s Fall from Trespass into Grace.

The Barrow Group season will continue with the world premiere of K. Lorrel Manning’s Awake, a collection of vignettes examining diversity, prejudice, and fear that will run January 12–February 8, 2019. Manning will also direct.

The Thickness of Skin by late U.K. playwright Clare McIntyre will close the season March 15–April 11. Barrow Group Co-Artistic Director Lee Brock will direct the play about a middle-class woman who lends a hand to a homeless man.
