The 14th annual Songs of Hope benefit will honor Wicked and Pippin composer-lyricist Stephen Schwartz with an Icon of Hope Award. The evening will be held September 13 at KIDinaKORNER Kampus in Sherman Oaks, California.
The other honorees are Benny Blanco and Mike Will Made-It, who will be honored with Legend in Songwriting Awards; Sarah Aarons, who will be honored with a Vanguard Award; and James Newton Howard, who will receive the Composer of the Year Award.
Songs of Hope celebrates songwriters and composers with live music and a silent auction. The event brings together more than 300 music industry celebrities and professionals and to date has raised over $3.4 million for City of Hope.
The musical, a reinvention of Tim Burton’s cult classic film Edward Scissorhands, uses the pop music of Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Alanis Morissette, and more.
