Anne Washburn's Mr. Burns, a Post-Electric Play, featuring music by the late Michael Friedman, began performances July 8 at Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival and will open July 23, with performances set to continue through September 17. Originally commissioned and produced by theatre company The Civilians, the dark comedy is set in the future as civilization rebuilds itself and today's pop culture reemerges as mythology.
Mr. Burns feature scenic design by Peiyi Wong, costume design by Kathleen Doyle, lighting design by Stacey Derosier, sound design by Darron West, and props by Samantha Shoffner, choreography/fight choreographer by Orlando Pabotoy, and music direction by Saul Nache.
