New Jersey's George Street Playhouse has recruited two-time Emmy and Golden Globe winner Sally Struthers (All in the Family) for their upcoming production of Joe DiPietro's An Old-Fashioned Family Murder. Struthers will play Mrs. Peck in the production, being directed by Larry Raben. Performances begin October 14 and continue through November 2. Opening night will be October 17.
The comic whodunnit center on a murder in a decrepit mansion that comes after a pompous writer reveals a family secret.
"We’re delighted to welcome Sally Struthers to George Street Playhouse,” says Artistic Producers Christopher J. Bailey, Scott Goldman, and Laiona Michelle in a joint statement. “Many know her from her unforgettable television work, and we can’t wait for our audiences to see her bring this role to life. We’re also happy to welcome back Joe DiPietro for his seventh collaboration with us. His plays have long been a favorite with George Street audiences, and this new mystery promises to be another wonderful evening in the theatre."
On Broadway, Struthers has acted in Wally's Cafe, The Odd Couple, and Grease. She's also become a mainstay of the regional theatre circuit, performing at Musical Theatre West, Casa Mañana, Pittsburgh CLO, Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, and many others.
