A new production of Shayan Lofti's What Became of Us, seen at Off-Broadway's Atlantic Theater Company in 2024, will play New Jersey's George Street Playhouse later this winter.

Directed by Laiona Michelle, previews will begin March 17 prior to an official opening March 20 for a limited engagement through April 5 at the New Jersey venue.

The cast will include 2025 Tony Award winner Francis Jue (Yellow Face, Pacific Overtures, M. Butterfly) and Obie honoree Christine Toy Johnson (The Music Man, Grease, Chu Chem).

Jue and Johnson will play siblings whose lives take different paths and whose bond continues to draw them back together. Told through memory and choice, the story traces how shared history and diverging experiences shape who they become.

The upcoming production will also have scenic design by Shoko Kambara, costume design by Niiamar Felder, and lighting design by Artistic Producer Christopher J. Bailey. Casting is by McCorkle Casting.
