The Violin, a new musical by The Francis Sisters inspired by a five-generation violin, receives industry presentations in Manhattan October 29 and 30.

Directed by David Ruttura, the cast features Delphi Borich as Freja, Joe Cassidy as Per, Noah Kiserman as Peter, Pierre Marais as Johan, Paul Schoeffler as Mr. Bonde, Katie Thompson as Astrid, Samantha Williams as Brita, and standby Danny Rothman plus ensemble members Deshawn Bowens, Victoria Byrd, Kaitlyn Davidson, Jacob Higdon, Minju Michelle Lee, Stephanie Martignetti, Paul Heesang Miller, Jimin Moon, Jen Noble, Drew Redington, Sally Shaw, and Michael Starr.

With a book and lyrics by Kara Dudley and music by Kami Nishima, The Violin is set in 1884 Sweden as Peter Larsen, a young luthier, fights for a chance to build his career in a crumbling landscape of poverty and classism. A selfless act leads Peter to the edge of ruin, but instead he unexpectedly gains the opportunity of a lifetime. 

The musical also features choreography by Patrick O'Neill, music direction by Matt Castle, and production stage management by Daniel Everett. Casting is by Geoff Josselson, and Showtown Theatricals is the general manager. 

Scott Lake is lead producer with co-producers Kami Nishima and Nick Blasko. Showtown Productions serves as executive producer.
