Broadway actor Max Mendoza Crumm has launched a fundraising campaign on Kickstarter to support the production of their series of filmed puppet musical shorts, The Cosmic Clubhouse.
The series will feature an ensemble of original creature characters crafted from "cardboard, sparkles, forest bits, and paint," all living in a magical clubhouse hideaway. Crumm is leading the project with a handcrafted vision—no artificial intelligence tools, just "real music and real weird joy."
“Puppets are my first love. I am a Muppet. I’ve always loved warm, handmade story worlds,” Crumm said in a statement. “This one took shape piece by piece, and now I’m excited to develop it further with a community behind it.”
