Boiling Point star Vinette Robinson and Olivier winner Luke Treadaway have joined the cast of the upcoming new production of William Shakespeare's Othello, which will play London's Theatre Royal Haymarket October 23, 2025–January 17, 2026. Opening night is scheduled for November 4.
Directed by Tony winner Tom Morris (War Horse) with music by PJ Harvey, the cast will be led by the previously reported David Harewood (Homeland, Best of Enemies) as Othello, Toby Jones (Mr. Bates vs the Post Office, Detectorists) as Iago, and Caitlin FitzGerald (Succession, Masters of Sex) as Desdemona.
Robinson and Treadaway will play Emilia and Cassio, respectively.
Robinson, who will be making her West End debut, has also been seen on screen in The Gathering, Inside No.9, The Lazarus Project, Code 404, A Christmas Carol, I AM…Kristy, The Windrush Monologues, Doctor Who: Rosa, The A Word, Delicious, Close to the Enemy, Black Mirror, Sherlock, The Amazing Mr. Blunden, Assistance, The Thing With Feathers, The Pod Generation, Frankie, Say Your Prayers, Morgan, and Vera Drake.
Treadaway won the Olivier for Best Actor in a Play for his portrayal of Christopher in the National Theatre’s The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. Among his other theatre credits are East Is South, Cabaret, Hamlet/Oresteia, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Over There, and more, while his film work includes A Street Cat Named Bob, Ethel and Ernest, The Rack Pack, Unbroken, The Rise, Cheerful Weather for The Wedding, For the First Time, You Instead, Late Bloomers, Alice, Attack the Block, Killing Bono, and The Whistleblower.
Othello will be the first of a series of contemporary Shakespeare productions created by Morris for Chris Harper Productions to be staged in the West End over the next five years.
Harewood, who in 1997 was the first Black actor to play Othello at the National Theatre, said in an earlier statement, "It’s very exciting to be tackling this monumental part once again. Last time around I was very conscious of breaking through a particular glass ceiling, and I probably felt the weight of that. No concerns this time, and I’m looking forward to starting afresh."

Howell, casting by Anna Cooper, makeup design by Dominic Skinner, hair
and wig design by Suzanne Scotcher, movement direction by Laila
Diallo, associate direction by Katie Henry, assistant direction by Bethan James, costume supervision by Sabia Smith, and assistant costume supervision by Mariama Bojang.
Sheena Linden is the company manager, and Damian Partington is the production manager. Samantha Adams is the dramatherapist.
Kenny Leon's Broadway revival of Othello, co-starring Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal, played a limited engagement at the Barrymore this past season.
Othello will be produced in London by Chris Harper Productions with Len Blavatnik and Danny Cohen for Access Entertainment.
