Laura Benanti will host this year's Broadway Breakfast for The Theatre Development Fund (TDF), held the morning of October 15 at New York City's Rainbow Room.
The annual fundraiser will honor Shubert Organization chairman and CEO Robert E. Wankel, Tony winner Ali Stroker, and Samaritan Daytop Village this year, and guests will enjoy performances by Benanti and Stroker, with music direction by Billy Stritch.
Stroker will be honored with the inaugural Christina Trivigno Advocate Award, commemorating Christina Trivigno, who recently passed following a battle with cancer. Trivigno was a fierce advocate for accessibility, a senior leader in the industry, and a colleague and friend of TDF. The award will be granted each year in her memory to an extraordinary artist, activist, or creator in the community.
Wankel will receive the TDF Founders Award, honoring individuals and organizations who have demonstrated a deep commitment to TDF and its mission, and who embody TDF’s vision of a world where the transformative experience of attending live theatre and dance is essential, relevant, accessible, and inspirational.
Samaritan Daytop Village will receive the Victoria Bailey Impact Award for its 30-plus years of dedicated service to veterans, nearly a decade of partnership with TDF’s Veterans Theatregoing Program, and its belief in the healing power of the performing arts. The award is named for TDF’s former Executive Director, Victoria Bailey, and is given each year to an individual or community organization that furthers TDF’s mission.
Funds raised at the Broadway Breakfast provide vital support for the not-for-profit’s wide range of Accessibility, Education, and Community Programs that ensure the performing arts are accessible to all. This year's Broadway Breakfast is sold out, but those interested in supporting TDF can visit their website here.
