Exorcistic: The Rock Musical has returned Off-Broadway, and three new producers have come on board.

Lance Bass, Marissa Jaret Winokur, and original The Exorcist stunt double Eileen Dietz have joined the producing team for the parody musical. Bass and Winokur are also set to appear as a rotating guest stars.

Playing The Asylum NYC, the horror-comedy will feature a secret Broadway guest star at every performance. Performances began August 25, and opening night is set for September 8. The piece previously premiered Off-Broadway in 2023.

Written by Michael Shaw Fisher, who serves as the book writer, composer, and lyricist, Exorcistic: The Rock Musical stars Emma Hunton (Good Trouble). The musical is a self-aware parody of the Exorcist films, creating a chaotically over-the-top musical that dares to ask the question: when does horror tip into hilarity?

Exorcistic follows a theatre company planning to put on a parody of The Exorcist in a new money-making scheme. As the company take the show from staged reading to Broadway, their quest for fame and money supersedes their art and humanity, ensuring that their lead actress becomes actually possessed in the process.

In addition to Hunton, the revival features Ethan Crystal, Jesse Merlin, Steven Cutts, Michael Shaw Fisher, Leigh Wulff, Jaime Lyn Beatty, Richardson Cisneros-Jones, and Hannah Bonnett.

Special guest stars set to pop in include Bass, Jaime Cepero, Nicci Claspell, Garrett Clayton, Brian Logan Dales, Deanna Giulietti, Frankie Grande, Lena Hall, Ali Kresch, Charlene Incarnate, Lindsay Heather Pearce, Steven Taylor, Sophia Urista, Kirsten Vangsness, Nina West, Winokur, and Evan Rachel Wood, with many more waiting in the shadows.

Exorcistic will be directed by Chadd McMillan and Alli Miller-Fisher and feature choreography by Camal Pugh, musical direction by Zach Spound, lighting design by Marciel Greene, prop design by Kelly Stavert, costume design by Chadd McMillan, and intimacy direction by Rebecca Reaney. Exorcistic is produced by Hunton, Miller-Fisher, McMillan, and Mia Criss in association with Mark Giberson, Marciel Greene, and Winokur. General management is by LDK.
