Following a much-in-the-news performance of a medley of The Sound of Music tunes at the Academy Awards, TVLine.com reports that the unique artist will star in the fifth season of Ryan Murphy's "American Horror Story" series.

Details about the character Gaga will portray have yet to be announced; however, the famed singer will be the star of the new season. "American Horror Story: Hotel," which will likely be the first "Horror" season without leading lady Jessica Lange, is currently scheduled to debut on FX in October.
