Tony nominee Joy Woods and Emmy winner Joshua Bassett will lead the Off-Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors this month.
Bassett will make his New York stage debut as Seymour, and Woods will return as Audrey beginning December 19 at the Westside Theatre. The two will play the roles for 10 weeks, through March 1, 2026.
Current stars, Emmy-nominated actress Madeline Brewer (The Handmaid’s Tale, You, Orange is the New Black) and television and film star Thomas Doherty (Paradise, Tell Me Lies) will play their final performances as Audrey and Seymour on December 7. Understudies will cover the roles of Audrey and Seymour December 9–18.
Bassett is best known for his role as Ricky Bowen in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, a role that earned him widespread recognition, an Emmy for Outstanding Original Song, and helped launch a parallel musical career under Warner Records.
Woods returns to Little Shop after making her New York stage debut with the production as Chiffon, and later returning to play the role of Audrey opposite Matt Doyle and then Jeremy Jordan. Woods is now a Broadway darling, with standout performances in Six, The Notebook, and Gypsy—the latter earning her a 2025 Tony nomination.
Bassett and Woods will star alongside Tony Nominee Andrew Durand (Dead Outlaw, Shucked) as Dr. Orin Scrivello DDS, Christopher Swan (Annie at MSG) as Mushnik, Christian McQueen as The Voice of Audrey II, Christine Wanda as Ronnette, Savannah Lee Birdsong as Crystal, and Morgan Ashley Bryant as Chiffon, as well as Teddy Yudain, Jonothon Lyons, Mecca Hicks, Aveena Sawyer, Jeff Sears, Weston Chandler Long, Jon Hoche, Johnny Newcomb, David Colston Corris, Alloria Frayser, Michael Iannucci, and Chani Maisonet.
