The Jinkx Monsoon administration is officially in the White House Lyceum Theatre. Broadway's Oh, Mary! gets a largely new cast August 4, with Monsoon (Pirates!) as Mary, Kumail Nanjiani (Marvel's Eternals) as Mary's Husband, Michael Urie (Once Upon a Mattress) as Mary's Teacher, and Jenn Harris (Elsbeth) as Mary's Chaperone. Original cast member Tony Macht continues with the production as Mary's Husband's Assistant. The new cast is set to perform through September 28.

Monsoon succeeds Tituss Burgess, who played his final performance in the title role August 2. That was also the final performance date for original cast members Conrad Ricamora as Mary's Husband, James Scully as Mary's Teacher, and Bianca Leigh as Mary's Chaperone.

The performances mark Nanjiani and Harris' Broadway debuts. Both are known for their screen work; Nanjiani is an Oscar nominee for his work on The Big Sick, while Harris' other credits include American Fiction. Urie is a Broadway regular whose recent credits include Once Upon a Mattress and Spamalot.

Oh, Mary! centers on famous First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. In Escola's demented take (or as press notes put it, "through the lens of an idiot"), Mary Todd becomes a madcap, cabaret-obsessed alcoholic.

The piece premiered at Off-Broadway's Lucille Lortel Theatre in 2024 in a run that was extended three times. It then opened on Broadway last summer, where it's been breaking box office at the Lyceum Theatre; it became the first show in the theater’s 121-year history to gross more than $1,000,000 in a single week.

The show earned two 2025 Tony Awards: Lead Actor in a Play for Cole Escola (who recently departed the play) and Director in a Play for Sam Pinkleton.

The play's understudies are Hannah Solow, Martin Landry, and Julian Manjerico.
