Broadway News Jeremy Jordan Will Return to The Great Gatsby On Broadway

The Tony-nominee, who originated the role, will don Gatsby's pink suit once again.

Broadway's The Great Gatsby will welcome a familiar face when original star Jeremy Jordan returns to the title role of Jay Gatsby beginning November 10 at the Broadway Theatre. The production shared the news on Instagram, along with a video of Jordan and Aisha Jackson (who plays Gatsby's paramour Daisy Buchanan) performing a mashup of "My Green Light" from the show and pop singer Lorde's "Green Light."

Jordan will succeed current star Ryan McCartan in the role. McCartan's final bow is November 9, as previously announced. Jordan originated the role of Gatsby in 2024, though he left to star in the limited run of Floyd Collins at Lincoln Center (which earned him a 2025 Tony Award nomination).

The Broadway cast of Gatsby also currently features Michael Maliakel as Nick, Linedy Genao as Myrtle Wilson, Austin Colby as Tom Buchanan, Samantha Pauly as Jordan Baker, Charlie Pollock as George Wilson, and Eric Anderson as Meyer Wolfsheim.

Large, Traci Elaine Lee, Dariana Mullen, Chase Peacock, Mariah Reives, Dan Rosales, Dave Schoonover, Tess Soltau, Kyla Stone, Preston Taylor, Jessica Mallare White, and Matt Wiercinski.
