The Broadway revival of David Mamet's American Buffalo has announced its digital lottery and rush ticket policy. Starring Emmy and Tony winner Laurence Fishburne, Academy Award winner Sam Rockwell, and Emmy Award winner Darren Criss, the revival is directed by Neil Pepe and began previews March 22 at Circle in the Circle Square. The limited 16-week engagement will run through July 10.
Audience members can enter the show's digital lottery at AmericanBuffaloNYC.com the day before each performance until 3 PM ET, with winners drawn at 9 AM and 3 PM. Winners will be able to purchase up to two $35 tickets each.
Rush tickets are sold exclusively by TodayTix for $35. Starting at 9 AM, a limited amount of tickets will be available for purchase for that day's performances through the TodayTix app.
Originally slated to begin previews in March 2020 but delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the play follows three small-time hustlers in search of the American Dream. The production premiered on Broadway in 1977, receiving two Tony Award nominations and a Drama Desk award for Outstanding Set Design. It has gone on to be revived Off-Broadway in 1981 and 2000, and on Broadway in 1983.
The current production stars Fishburne as Donny, Rockwell as Teach, and Criss as Bobby. It features set design by Scott Pask, costume design by Dede Ayite, and lighting design by Tyler Micoleau.
