Lea Michele announced the recording at last night's curtain call, shared with fans everywhere via Instagram Live.

It's finally coming. The current Broadway revival of Funny Girl will release a cast recording featuring current leading lady Lea Michele digitally November 18. A physical CD release is set for January 20, 2023.

Michele announced the cast album at last night's performance during curtain call, with fans everywhere learning about the release via Instagram Live. "We have a little bit of a secret that we wanted to let you all in on," she started the reveal with.

Featuring Jule Styne's score and Bob Merrill's lyrics, Tony winner Harvey Fierstein revised the book for this revival of the biomusical tracking real-life singer and comic Fanny Brice. From humble beginnings in Brooklyn, New York, Brice rose to fame and fortune onstage in the Ziegfeld Follies and as a radio and screen performer. The original 1964 production propelled a young Barbra Streisand to international fame; she reprised her stage performance in the 1968 film adaptation, winning an Academy Award and a Golden Globe in the process.

In a rare occurrence, the album will feature replacement stars, with both Michele and Tovah Feldshuh having joined the production months into its run earlier this year. The cast recording is executive produced by Evan McGill, with Joanna Drowos, Abby Green, and PickleStar Theatricals serving as associate producers.

The Funny Girl revival began previews March 26 and has been open since April 24 at the August Wilson Theatre, and also stars Ramin Karimloo as Nick Arnstein, 2022 Tony nominee Jared Grimes as Eddie Ryan, Peter Francis James as Florenz Ziegfeld, Ephie Aardema as Mrs. Nadler, Debra Cardona as Mrs. Meeker, Toni DiBuono as Mrs. Strakosh, and Martin Moran as Tom Keeney.

The ensemble features Amber Ardolino, Daniel Beeman, Kurt Csolak, Leslie Donna Flesner, Afra Hines, Masumi Iwai, Aliah James, Stephen Mark Lukas, John Thomas Manzari, Katie Mitchell, Justin Prescott, Mariah Reives, and Leslie Blake Walker. Rounding out the company are standbys Liz McCartney and Jeremiah James and swings Colin Bradbury, John Michael Fiumara, Danielle Kelsey, and Alicia Lundgren.

The production is directed by Michael Mayer with choreography by Ellenore Scott, tap choreography by Ayodele Casel, music supervision and direction by Michael Rafter, scenic design by David Zinn, costume design by Susan Hilferty, lighting design by Kevin Adams, sound design by Brian Ronan, and hair design by Campbell Young Associates. Casting is by Jim Carnahan and Jason Thinger. The production also includes orchestrations by Chris Walker; dance, vocal, and incidental music arrangements by Alan Williams; additional arrangements by Carmel Dean and David Dabbon; music coordination by Seymour Red Press and Kimberlee Wertz; and vocal supervision by Liz Caplan.

Funny Girl is produced by David Caddick and David Lai, with co-producers Sonia Friedman, Scott Landis, David Babani, Michael Mayer, Brian Gillet, Huck Walton, Sean Keller, and Marc Levine.
