The Hamilton album was released in September 2015 and debuted at No. 12 on the Billboard 200 Chart. It peaked at No. 3 on the chart last summer, shortly after earning Platinum status in May, meaning that it had sold in excess of one million copies.
Only four cast recordings have reached the top 10 on the Billboard 200 in the last 50 years: Hamilton, The Book of Mormon, Hair, and recently, Dear Evan Hansen, which debuted at No. 8 in February this year.
Chart rankings are based on sales, radio play, and online streaming.
