Queer icons Glennon Doyle, Abby Wambach, and Tig Notaro have joined the producing team of the new musical Starstruck, which will make its world premiere next year at Bucks County Playhouse.

Starstruck will mark the theatrical producing debuts for Doyle, Wambach, and Notaro, who join producer Kevin Ryan (Ragtime, Gypsy), with additional developmental support provided by InMaat.

Doyle, Wambach, and Notaro will be the executive producers of the new musical, which features a book by Beth Malone (Fun Home) and Mary Ann Stratton and music and lyrics by Emily Saliers (Indigo Girls). Lorin Latarro (The Who's Tommy, Chess) will direct and choreograph the Cyrano-inspired musical, which will play the Pennsylvania theatre February 19-March 21, 2026, with an official opening night February 28.

“We are starstruck by the opportunity to help the greatest songwriter of our lifetime, Emily Saliers, bring Starstruck the musical to life,” Doyle and Wambach said in a joint statement. “The cast is staggeringly talented, the music is gorgeously gripping, and the message of hope, freedom and love is absolutely crucial in this American moment.”

“When Beth Malone and Emily Saliers approached me about being part of Starstruck, a musical centered on a middle-aged queer love story, I immediately saw dollar signs and a clear path to retirement,” Notaro added. “But all joking aside, these are some of my favorite people and some of the most talented artists on planet Earth. And I can’t wait to be a part of what they’ve created.”

Spinning off the story of Cyrano de Bergerac, Starstruck follows Cyd DeBerg in the small town of Sawtooth, Idaho, as she aims to create the first International Dark Sky Reserve in the United States—against the wishes of her fellow townspeople. But soon, Cyd finds herself in an unlikely love triangle.

Doyle is the CEO and Founder of Treat Media, and is an author, podcaster, producer, and philanthropist. Her books include the No. 1 New York Times bestsellers Untamed, Love Warrior, and Carry On, Warrior.

Wambach is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, FIFA World Cup Champion, and six-time winner of the U.S. Soccer Athlete of the Year award. She was the United States’ leading scorer in the 2007 and 2011 Women’s World Cup tournaments and the 2004 and 2012 Olympics. An activist for equality and inclusion, she is the author of the New York Times bestseller Wolfpack.
