BEDLAM's production of J.T. Harding's Music City has found its merry Midtown band.

The production is set to transfer a new venue in the theatre district following its 2024 Off-Broadway run, which extended three times due to popular demand. Located at 512 West 42nd Street, the venue will be transformed into "The Wicked Tickle," a Nashville honky-tonk bar, with performances beginning March 23 ahead of an April 8 opening night.

With original and existing songs by multi-platinum songwriter J.T. Harding (who has written for country stars like Darius Rucker, Keith Urban, Blake Shelton, and more) Music City follows two young singer-songwriters into an East Nashville bar that serves up cheap beer, open mics, and dreams of big breaks. The bar regulars pursue love and music in the face of addiction, poverty, and haunting pasts. The work features a book by playwright Peter Zinn (Rumspringa, Somewhere With You) and direction by BEDLAM Artistic Director Eric Tucker.

The show's original cast will return to their roles, including Drew Bastian (Measure for MeasureHair) as Newt, Jonathan Judge-Russo (Falling, Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me) as Drew, Julianne B. Merrill (Chess, Real Women Have Curves) as Wyn, Leenya Rideout (War Horse, Company) as Tammy/Leeanne, Andrew Rothenberg (The Assassination of Julius Caesar..., Curse of the Starving Class) as Bakerman/Stucky Stiles, Casey Shuler (Hair, Titanic) as 23, and Stephen Michael Spencer (Clyde’sMedea: Re-Versed) as T.J. The production understudies will be Grace Bernardo, Danny Hayward and Megan Loomis.

The production band will include drummer Bastian, lead guitarist mandolin player and lap steel player Ann Klein, keyboard player Merrill, and bassist Tony Tino.

The staging will feature scenic design by Clifton Chadick and assisted by Buffy Cardoza, costume design by Kindall Houston Almond, lighting design by Eric Southern, sound design by Jane Shaw, and choreography by John Heginbotham. The creative team also includes associate director Caitlin Morley, production manager Kyle Schuller, music supervisor and music director Merrill, and associate music supervisor and arranger PJ Ju. The production stage manager will be Diane Healy, and the assistant stage manager will be Deanna Kahn.

Music City is produced by Gabrielle Palitz, with No Guarantees Productions and BEDLAM. General management is by Tom Smedes Productions.
