The full cast has been revealed for The Substance: The Parody Musical, which will arrive in NYC just in time for Halloween. The spoof of the 2024 body horror film will play the Laurie Beechman Theatre October 24 and October 27 - 29. 

The cast will include  Drama Desk Nominee Jenny Lee Stern (Forbidden Broadway) as Elizabeth Sparkle, and Jayke Workman (Chicago; Fowl Play) as Sue, with Garrett Poladian (Titanique), SLee (Stranger Sings), Gabriella Joy Rodriguez (Five: The Parody Musical) and Jaime Lyn Beatty (Starkid). Katelyn Bowman will serve as an additional cover for the show. Each performance will offer additional surprise guest stars.

With a score of well-known Broadway standards fit for a "hilariously horrifying" new context, the parody has been penned by Jonathan Hogue (Stranger Sings), Billy Recce (Fowl Play, Five: The Parody Musical) and Jaime Lyn Beatty (Starkid). Sam LaFrage is directing the production, which will feature choreography by Ashley Marinelli, design by Drama Desk nominee Brendan McCann, and music direction by Lena Gabrielle (Emojiland). Rogue Party is producing.
