Realitytown Musical Will Play The Beechman

The new work from Billy Recce and Danny Salles skewers the world of reality TV.

April 07, 2026 By Logan Culwell-Block

New York City's Laurie Beechman Theatre will host a two-performance run of Billy Recce and Danny Salles' new musical Realitytown April 23-24. Described in press notes as "a fever dream of fame, love, and lower-third graphics gone rogue," the comedy retells the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice while trading the underground realm of Hades for a descent into the world of reality TV.

The upcoming performances will feature a cast including Sam Underwood (Dexter, Homeland) as Ronny, Ginna Claire Mason (Wicked) as Tria, David Beach (Something Rotten!, Mamma Mia!) as The Devil, Garrett Poladian (Titaníque, Stranger Sings) as Christian Siriano, SLee (Vape! The Grease Parody, Stranger Sings) as Abby Lee Miller and The Sea Hag, and Micaela Lamas (Teeth) as Bachelorette. Casting is by Eisenberg Casting's Daryl Eisenberg.

The musical features music by Recce, lyrics by Recce and Salles, and a book and direction by Salles. The duo previously collaborated on Vape! The Grease Parody.

"Realitytown was inspired by my years working as a reality TV showrunner on series that ranged from the sublime (Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List) to the ridiculous (My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiancé)," says Salles in a statement. "Since we’re all now living in a likes-over-logic world dominated by a maniacal reality star (I’m not talking Andy Cohen) where 'bimbofication' feels more like a Housewives fashion trend than an underground fetish, what better time to create an epic send-up of this reality hellscape? …and nobody sets a pop culture reference to music better than Billy Recce."

The performance will feature music supervision and arrangements by Lena Gabrielle, choreography by Ashley Marinelli, and costumes and props by Izzy Kitch. Visceral Entertainment serves as general manager, and Semi-Cool Productions, Russ Pastena, and Natasa and Michael Valocchi are producing.

Tickets are at TheBeechman.com.
