Cowboys and Lesbians, one of Playbill's top picks for the 2023 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, will play London early next year.
Written and directed by Billie Esplen, the queer rom-com will play the Park Theatre from February 21, 2024 through March 9, with opening night set for February 23. Sitting at 75 minutes with no interval, the play will be presented with the unusual starting times of 3:15 PM for matinees, and 7:45 PM for evening performances.
Playbill Pick: Cowboys and Lesbians at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe
Cowboys and Lesbians focuses on Nina and Noa, two 17 year olds struggling to make sense of their fantasies and fascination with each other: that is, until they decide to write a Hollywood romance together, inventing a fantasy world of lust, betrayal, and sexy cowboys. Told through the eyes of two closeted girls, the connection between sexuality and fantasy comes to light in sparklingly funny fashion.
The Park Theatre engagement will star Julia Pilkington as Nina and Georgia Vyvyan as Noa, reprising their roles from the Edinburgh Fringe. In addition to Esplen, the production will feature set design by Esme Solomon, and production by Eleanor Birdsall-Smith.
