Tony Award winner Debbie Gravitte (Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, Chicago) will preview tunes from her upcoming album Big Band Broadway in a November 6 solo concert at Birdland jazz club in New York City.
Gravitte won the 1989 Tony for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her performance in Jerome Robbins’ Broadway. Her other Broadway appearances include Perfectly Frank, Blues in the Night, Les Misérables (in 1994 as a Fantine replacement), and Chicago as a Matron Mama Morton replacement in 2003.
She now performs mainly with orchestras around the U.S. Her previous solo albums include Defying Gravity, The MGM Album, and Part of Your World: The Music of Alan Menken.
