Cheeyang Ng's solo musical Legendary will get a London performance via The Other Palace's Musical Bites series. The performance is set for November 12 at 1:30 PM.
Press notes share the work "blurs the lines between ritual and theatre," inviting "audiences into an immersive musical journey through mythmaking, queerness, and the act of becoming."
“Legendary is about writing yourself into myth when the world has erased you from it," says Ng in a statement. "In a time where trans and Asian identities are marginalized and scapegoated, I choose to center the experience.” Before they head to London, Ng will perform Legendary in New York City twice on October 22 at Open Jar Studios as part of the Breaking the Binary Theatre Festival.
Ng's musicals include MĀYĀ: The Musical and Eastbound. They have been honored with the Fred Ebb and Princess Grace Awards, and a Jonathan Larson Grant.
