Video Celebrate Jonathan Larson's Birthday Along With Netflix's Tick, Tick...Boom!

The late Rent composer was born February 4, 1960.

It's hard to imagine that Jonathan Larson would have turned 62 today. The composer died in 1996, shortly before his 36th birthday on the day that his Pulitzer-winning musical Rent began Off-Broadway previews at New York Theatre Workshop.

His autobiographical musical tick, tick...BOOM! takes places around his 30th birthday as the composer examines his career and what he then considered his lack of success. To celebrate Larson's birthday, the team behind the Netflix film adaptation put together a birthday video. Watch it above.

Tick, tick...BOOM!, now streaming on Netflix, has a screenplay by Tony winner Steven Levenson (Dear Evan Hansen) and is directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Miranda also produces with Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, and Julie Oh; Levenson is billed as an executive producer with Julie Larson and Celia Costas. Andrew Garfield recently won a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Larson.
