Five cast members from the Broadway production of Come From Away—De'Lon Grant, Joel Hatch, James Seol, Pearl Sun, and Jim Walton—will be part of the cast of the Cape Playhouse production of the Tony-nominated musical next month.
Directed and choreographed by Olivier winner Kelly Devine, performances are scheduled for August 6-30 in Dennis, Massachusetts.
The cast will also feature Kelli Barrett, Mary Callanan, Garrett Long, Christiani Pitts, William Popp, Renee Shohet, Andre Williams, and Jeremy Woodward.
Come From Away, with music, lyrics, and a book by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, opened on Broadway March 12, 2017, going on to receive seven 2017 Tony nominations, including Best Musical, subsequently winning the Tony for Christopher Ashley's direction. The work, which played its final Broadway performance in October 2022, tells the true story of 7,000 air passengers stranded in Gander, Newfoundland, in the wake of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
The upcoming engagement will also have sets by Alexander Woodward, costumes by Gail Baldoni, lights by Kirk Bookman, sound design by Walter Trarbach, casting by Stephanie Klapper, and music direction by Lena Gabrielle. The musical also has orchestrations by August Eriksmoen and arrangements by Ian Eisendrath.
Arthur Atkinson will be the stage manager with Eitan Markowitz as the assistant stage manager.
