London's Donmar Warehouse has announced a series of additions to its 30th Anniversary season, including a production of Next to Normal, the Tom Kitt-Brian Yorkey musical's London premiere, starring Caissie Levy as Diana and Trevor Dion Nicholas as Dr. Madden/Dr. Fine.

The production, which will reunite Levy with director Michael Longhurst after collaborating on Broadway's recent Caroline, Or Change revival, will begin performances August 12, with opening night set for August 22 and a run continuing through October 7. Featured on the creative team will be musical supervisor Nigel Lilley, designer Chloe Lamford, lighting designer Lee Curran, sound designer Tony Gayle, movement director Ann Yee, and musical director Nick Barstow. Anna Cooper is casting.

Longhurst has also announced that 2023 will be his final year as artistic director of the Donmar. After five years in the role, Longhurst will vacate the position in February 2024.

Alessandra Davison and Adam Karim will serve Resident Assistant Directors for the company in the interim.

Said Longhurst: "I could not be prouder of the Donmar team and all that we’ve achieved across my tenure—the impact of the pandemic on our industry was devastating, but in the face of this, I am so grateful that the team rose to the challenge... I know that the Donmar will not simply survive, but thrive and continue to forge forward as an industry leader and innovator - this next chapter is a new moment and an incredible opportunity for the company’s next Artistic Director."

In recent years, Donmar Warehouse has become a hotbed for revival productions, with many transferring to the New York Stage. In addition to Caroline or Change, on which Levy and Longhurst worked together last season, the current production of Take Me Out originated at the Donmar.

In addition to Next to Normal, the theatre's 30th Anniversary Season will include Noël Coward’s Private Lives, starring Stephen Mangan as Elyot, Rachael Stirling as Amanda, Laura Carmichael as Sibyl and Sargon Yelda as Victor. The revival will be followed by the world premiere of Jack Thorne’s When Winston Went to War with the Wireless, directed by Katy Rudd. For more details and dates, visit DonmarWarehouse.com.
