The West End transfer of the Donmar Warehouse's 2023 Olivier-nominated staging of Next to Normal—which opened June 26, 2024, at the Wyndham's Theatre—will be available to stream worldwide on BroadwayHD (with the exception of U.K. subscribers, who can find the title via National Theatre at Home) beginning December 1.
This staging of Next to Normal was broadcast on PBS in May with some dialogue censored; the BroadwayHD version will be completely uncensored.
A holiday promotion, which continues through December 12, enables new subscribers to view this title and hundreds of full-length stage plays and musicals for $50 off the first year of an annual subscription and on a one-year gift subscription. Learn more at Holidays.BroadwayHD.com.
The cast features Grammy and Olivier nominee Caissie Levy (back on Broadway in the current revival of Ragtime) as Diana Goodman, Trevor Dion Nicholas (Hamilton) as Dr. Madden/Dr. Fine, Jack Ofrecio (From Here to Eternity) as Henry, Olivier winner and Tony nominee Jamie Parker (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) as Dan, Olivier nominee Jack Wolfe (currently making his Broadway debut in Hadestown) as Gabe, and Olivier winner and BAFTA nominee Eleanor Worthington-Cox (Matilda the Musical) as Natalie.
The entire Donmar cast made the journey to the Wyndham's, again under the direction of Michael Longhurst. Read reviews for the Donmar staging, which marked the musical's U.K. premiere, here. Performances continued through September 21, 2024.
Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley, co-founders of BroadwayHD, said in a statement, “We’re thrilled that this groundbreaking musical is joining the BroadwayHD library with an incredible cast and a powerful message that we know our subscribers will love."
