The Tony-honored Broadway Inspirational Voices will perform in concert September 15 at The Riverside Church in New York.
The evening, titled The Gathering: Rooted and Rising, will begin at 7 PM.
Attendees can expect a mix of gospel, Broadway, and inspirational music, with spoken word. The evening will take audiences on a "journey of what it means to be deeply rooted—in purpose, in justice, and in community. It is a celebration of the voices and changemakers who allow this work to rise," according to press notes.
“This is not just a concert,” says Artistic Director Allen René Louis in a statement. “It’s a call to action. It’s an invitation to be in community. To sing. To dance. To listen. But most importantly, to dig deep.”
“The Riverside Church has long been a place for sacred resistance and artistic expression,” adds Rev. Adriene Thorne, senior minister of The Riverside Church. “We are honored to open our doors to the Broadway Inspirational Voices and invite the community to gather, to reflect, and to rise together in song and spirit.”
