Complete casting has been announced for The Kennedy Center’s Broadway Center Stage production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, running June 6–10 at the Eisenhower Theater.
The semi-staged concerts will star the previously announced Skylar Astin (Pitch Perfect, Spring Awakening) as J. Pierrepont Finch with Betsy Wolfe (Waitress, Falsettos) as Rosemary Pilkington and Michael Urie (Broadway’s upcoming Torch Song, Ugly Betty) as Bud Frump—a role he played on Broadway in the 2011 revival.
Becki Newtown, who appeared with Urie on Ugly Betty, has been cast as Hedy La Rue, with John Bolton (Anastasia, A Christmas Story) as Mr. Bratt, John Michael Higgins (Pitch Perfect, Best in Show) as Biggley, Joaquina Kalukango (The Color Purple) as Smitty, Tony Award winner Michael McGrath (She Loves Me, Nice Work If You Can Get It) as Mr. Twimble/Wally Womper, and previously announced Helen Hayes Award winner Nova Y. Payton as Miss Jones.
The ensemble includes Darius Barnes, Sean Bell, Lawrence Clayton, Colin Cunliffe, Kaitlyn Davidson, Casey Garvin, Eloise Kropp, Harris Milgrim, Shina Ann Morris, Kristen Piro, Katerina Papacostas, Tally Sessions, Diana Vaden, and Vishal Vaidya.
The Frank Loesser, Abe Burrows, Willie Gilbert, and Jack Weinstock musical follows follows Chess and In the Heights; in the Kennedy Center's Broadway Center Stage series of semi-staged concerts.
The Tony- and Pulitzer-winning musical tells the story of a window washer who climbs the corporate ladder to high-powered executive with the help of a handbook.
The production will feature sets by Scott Pask, costumes by Amy Clark, lighting design by Peter Kaczorowski, and sound design by Brian Ronan.
