Classic Arts News BBC Radio 3 and ENO to Video-Stream Sally Potter Carmen In its first video stream of an opera, BBC Radio 3 will offer in partnership with the English National Opera a complete production of Carmen starting November 3 at 6:30 p.m. The broadband video stream will be available on the BBC Radio 3 website for seven days thereafter.
Filmmaker Sally Potter, director of ENO's Carmen, will also direct the video streaming. The event marks the first time an English opera house has presented an entire production online.

ENO's Carmen is an installment in ENO Interactive, an online initiative the company launched earlier this year using Web 2.0 elements like user-generated content and social networking to establish and reach an interactive community.

"The web is giving ENO new opportunities for engaging with a wider audience and this project expands on the exciting Web 2.0 content we have created around our production of Carmen," said ENO artistic director John Berry in a statement.

Subsequent productions on which ENO Interactive's content will be based include Aida and Lost Highway, a collaboration with the Young Vic Theatre.
