Avenue Q will return to London's West End for a 20th anniversary revival next spring. The 2004 Tony Award-winning musical will perform at Shaftesbury Theatre March 20-August 29, 2026.
An edgy, adult satire of Sesame Street, Avenue Q follows a group of 20-something humans and puppets learning how to live and love in New York City. Featuring a book by Jeff Whitty, and songs by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, the work premiered Off-Broadway in 2003 at Vineyard Theatre before coming to Broadway the same year. The original production famously became the little show that could at the 2004 Tony Awards, winning Best Musical over its juggernaut competition Wicked.
Original director Jason Moore will return for the new revival, reassembling much of his original creative team. In a statement, Moore described updating the musical with "tweaks and surprises" to bring it into the modern decade.
The production will feature orchestrations and arrangements by Stephen Oremus, original Broadway puppets conceived and designed by Rick Lyon, choreography by Ebony Molina, and set design by Anna Louizos.
Casting, by Pearson Casting; along with further creative team members are to be announced.
