Watch: Victoria Clark, Lear deBessonet, More on Why Jeanine Tesori Is a Visionary Artist
The Tony-winning Fun Home and Kimberly Akimbo composer is being honored by Lincoln Center this entire season.

Lincoln Center has released a new video celebrating Tony-winning Fun Home and Kimberly Akimbo composer Jeanine Tesori, the arts center's 2025-2026 Visionary Artist. See Victoria Clark, Lear deBessonet, David Lindsay-Abaire, and more comment on Tesori's artistry in the video above.
Tesori's Visionary Artist designation has included performances of her work at the multi-venue arts institution, including a 2025 staged concert performance of Tesori and Tazewell Thompson's opera Blue at David Geffen Hall; a Deaf Broadway performance of Tesori and Brian Crawley's Violet, featuring actors performing the musical in American Sign Language as the Broadway cast album plays; and two entries in her Cast Album Project, in The Appel Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center. The latter, a collaboration between Tesori, Anne Kauffman, and Teneisha Duggan held earlier this month, brings attention to culturally significant musicals by historically marginalized artists that have faded from public memory with a live cast recording session.
Tesori is also participating in several talks. She will be joined by her Kimberly Akimbo and Shrek collaborator Lindsay-Abaire for The Lineage of Laughter May 12 to discuss the influence of playwright Christopher Durang on Lindsay-Abaire's work.
A full schedule is at LincolnCenter.org.
