Anthony Rapp, who created the role of Mark in the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Rent, will star in a benefit reading of Chris Henry's Navalny and Eddie November 3 at 6:30 PM at Royal Family Productions in Manhattan.
In the new play, two men enter a room: one, a battle-scarred Navy SEAL turned political weapon, still maintaining his innocence of any blood on his hands; the other, a Russian dissident, already a martyr, or maybe still fighting in the liminal spaces.
Additional casting will be announced.
The Outer Critics Circle Award-nominated Royal Family Productions, a non-profit theatre company known for its innovative productions and development of new work, is presenting the reading penned by Artistic Director Henry.
Rapp's Broadway credits also include If/Then; You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown; Six Degrees of Separation; Precious Sons; and The Little Prince and the Aviator. He is also known for his work on screen in Adventures in Babysitting, School Ties, Dazed and Confused, Six Degrees of Separation, Rent, Man of the Century, Road Trip, Winter Passing, A Beautiful Mind, The X-Files, Law & Order: SVU, Psych, and Star Trek: Discovery.
Royal Family is led by Artistic Director Henry and Creative Director Lorna Ventura.
There will be a reception with cash donation bar opening one hour before the show and immediately following. For tickets visit RoyalFamilyProductions.org.
