Broadway News Ann Harada Goes Into the Woods on Broadway September 27

The revival of the Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine musical is currently running at the St. James Theatre.

Stage favorite Ann Harada steps into the role of Jack's Mother in the Broadway revival of Into the Woods beginning September 27, reprising her role from the two-week summer run for Encores! at New York City Center where the production began. She succeeds Aymee Garcia, who originated the role for the current Broadway run at the St. James Theatre. 

With a book by James Lapine and a score by Stephen Sondheim, Into the Woods combines the fairy-tale stories of Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel, and more, ultimately going beyond "ever after" to explore what happens next.

The production, directed by Lear deBessonet, currently stars Stephanie J. Block as the Baker's Wife; Sebastian Arcelus as the Baker; Montego Glover and Patina Miller sharing the role of The Witch; Krysta Rodriguez as Cinderella; Gavin Creel as the Wolf and Cinderella's Prince; Joshua Henry as Rapunzel's Prince; Katy Geraghty as Little Red Ridinghood; ; Cole Thompson as Jack; Jim Stanek as the Steward; and Alysia Velez as Rapunzel. 

The ensemble is rounded out by Ta’Nika Gibson, Annie Golden, Albert Guerzon, Brooke Ishibashi, Kennedy Kanagawa, David Patrick Kelly, Nancy Opel, Cole Thompson, Alysia Velez, Delphi Borich, Felicia Curry, Jason Forbach, Alex Joseph Grayson, Cameron Johnson, Paul Kreppel, Mary Kate Moore, Diane Phelan, and Lucia Spina.

The popular revival recently announced casting through November 20 with casting for performances through January 8, 2023 to be announced.
